Colliers Lanard & Axilbund Broker Elected to Chair Steering Committee for the Formation of a Delaware Branch of the DVGBC

Colliers L & A Inc (01/31/2010) - Wilmington, DE - January 27, 2010 - Linda Schultz, a broker with Colliers L & A, has been elected to chair the Steering Committee of the Delaware Branch of the Delaware Valley Green Building Council (DVGBC). There is only one other branch in the Lehigh Valley Area. Mark Purcell of Nason Construction was elected Vice President.

This Steering Committee includes representatives from DelTech, University of Delaware, Christiana Care, DNREC, AstraZeneca, developers Brandywine Realty Trust, Buccini Pollin Group and Commonwealth Realty in addition to various architects, engineers, attorneys, contractors and other firms involved in sustainable fields.

Early initiatives will include the formation of membership, education and advocacy committees. Planning for LEED certified presentations as well as breakfast and evening networking and tour events are also in the works. The DVGBC is a nonprofit membership organization and a chapter of the United States Green Building Council, the nation's foremost coalition of leaders from across the building industry working to promote buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work.

Ms. Schultz is an office broker at CL&A and is based in the Delaware office. She has worked in commercial real estate in Philadelphia, its suburbs and Delaware for 25 years and with the DVGBC membership committee for more than four years. "Educating landlords and tenants on the value of reuse in facilities and with products, and promoting environmentally sound practices is critical," Ms. Schultz said. "Advancing the principals and objectives of the Green movement is the future of real estate."
